12.2.25 Luke 7:36-50

Luke 7v36-50

A Prayer

Lord help me to welcome you into my life heart and home  today”

Reading  Luke 7 v36-50

Reflection

Jesus enjoyed the hospitality industry and was  a guest in the home of Simon the Pharisee

Suddenly there is a commotion and social conventions are thrown aside as the unnamed woman rushes in and gives an extravagant demonstration of worship, much to the annoyance of the other guests  Jesus  challenges  them by telling the parable of the debtors and then rebukes Simon for his failure to even observe the usual conventions for visiting guests

True faith says Luke is found when someone looks at Jesus and discovers Gods forgiveness and the sign and proof of this faith is love even at a dinner party. Jesus says “your faith has saved you  Go in peace

Response

Take time to reflect on the use of our homes as places of welcome, hospitality and witness

“Christ is the Head of this House; the unseen guest and every meal, the silent listener to every conversation”

Prayer- “Lord bless this day and may our homes be a place where you are welcome  Amen
