20.04.25 Luke 24:1-12

20 April

Prepare

Risen Jesus, open my eyes and heart today. Let the wonder of Your resurrection awaken fresh hope in me. Speak life where I have grown weary, and help me see that the tomb is truly empty.

Read – Luke 24:1–12

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away... but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them... “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!”

Then they remembered his words... Returning from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others... But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb... and went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

Reflect

Early that morning, the women came carrying spices—but left carrying hope. They expected to care for a dead body. Instead, they found an empty tomb and a message that would change everything: “He is not here; He has risen!”

It wasn’t just the stone that was rolled away—it was the barrier between death and life, fear and faith, despair and joy. Resurrection doesn’t deny the pain of Friday or the silence of Saturday—but it declares that neither gets the final word.

Still, even this good news is hard to believe at first. The disciples called it nonsense. Peter ran to see for himself, and left wondering. Resurrection can surprise us like that—sometimes it takes time to sink in. But it always invites us to move, to hope, to believe again.

Be

Jesus, You are alive! Let that truth sink deep into my heart today. Let it awaken joy, stir up faith, and renew my hope.

Become

Make me someone who lives as a witness to resurrection—someone who carries hope into dark places, who believes even when others doubt, and who runs toward You with wonder.

Do

Celebrate today! Reflect on where you’ve seen signs of resurrection in your life—places where God brought life from loss, healing from pain, or hope from despair.

Share the good news. Like the women at the tomb, don’t keep the message to yourself. Reach out to someone who needs to be reminded: Jesus is alive, and so is hope.

Focus prayer:

Father, we love and adore you.

We long to shape our lives closer to you.

May we focus on your grace in this season.

Help us to be humble and gentle.

Remain in us, as we remain in you.

As we pray: do what only you can do.
